Watch on VimeoBolinas Films is an independent production company founded by Alessandro Cecconi — director, producer, cinematographer. The company works at the intersection of personal history and collective memory, finding stories that industrial culture left behind.
Cecconi began his career in 1988. In 1993 he served as executive producer on two films that defined European documentary cinema: Werner Herzog's Bells from the Deep and Jean-Luc Godard's Les Enfants jouent à la Russie. His most recent film, La Fabbrica del Tannino (2025), reconstructs the life of a chestnut tannin factory in Tuscany's Casentino valley.
Bolinas Films is currently in production on Le Voci della Fabbrica, a documentary about the Foligno sugar refinery, and Artigiani del Casentino, a five-part series on craft and identity in rural Tuscany.
